We visited Osaka twice in spring and ate at 22 restaurants and 10 bars, from Kobebeef Teppanyaki RIO to Muscle Girls Bar. Cherry blossom crowds mean you need reservations.
Osaka got two back-to-back spring visits and fed us stupendously both times: teppanyaki beef on Mido-suji, Michelin-starred spots in a city famous for street food, and a bar list that includes a muscle-themed establishment we refuse to explain further. Cherry blossom season doubles the crowds at the castle and halves your dinner options — book ahead.
