We ate our way through 7 Hakone restaurants (plus stayed at 2 hotels and hit the Open-Air Museum). From Hakone Kappei to Box Burger, here's where we actually went.
Hakone in cherry-blossom April was ryokan robes, sulfur-valley black eggs, and the Open-Air Museum's Picassos scattered across a hillside. We bounced between seven restaurants — Box Burger fed the casual end, Hakone Kappei and Toto Sapore the sit-down one, the Hyatt Regency the onsen-resort experience. Time the Fuji viewpoints for morning clarity; the mountain clocks off by noon most days.
