We ate, drank, and stayed our way through Milan over two trips — 12 restaurants (Nobu, Sadler, neighborhood pizza at Piz), 3 bars including 1915-born Camparino, and 3 hotels.
Milan rewired our idea of the aperitivo — Camparino has poured them beside the Duomo since 1915, and we hit 3 bars that prove the city takes its spritz as seriously as its fashion. Two spring trips covered everything from Nobu to neighborhood pizza at Piz, with Fashion Week chaos in between.
It's Italy's least Italian city and its best-dressed one. We stayed at Portrait Milano, Four Seasons, and Excelsior Hotel Gallia, ate at 12 restaurants spanning Sadler's fine dining to CONFINE and Mezè, and came for the spritz economy.
