Santiago de Compostela — Where We Ate & Drank

Santiago de Compostela travel guide

We walked the Camino into Santiago de Compostela and ate at 4 restaurants we loved—from Casa Marcelo's Galician-Japanese counter to O Sendeiro's pulpo, plus a spa, museum, and bar.

Santiago was the end of our Camino — walking into the Praza do Obradoiro changes how a city feels forever. Casa Marcelo's Galician-Japanese counter and O Sendeiro's pulpo were the celebration meals; the botafumeiro swing, if you luck into it, is the show.

We stayed twice, ate at four restaurants, found one proper massage spot, and spent an afternoon in the Museum of the Galician People. May, June or September: pilgrim season without August's crush.
