Healdsburg is our Sonoma home base — close enough to Dry Creek zins and Russian River pinots, small enough to walk to dinner. Valette and Dry Creek Kitchen carry the food flag, Lo & Behold Bar + Kitchen the cocktails, and the Montage the splurge stay. Crush season (September–October) is the valley at its best-smelling.
