Abu Dhabi in November put Ferrari World's 240 km/h coaster on our list next to Almayass's Lebanese-Armenian spread — and the Grand Mosque and the Louvre's rain-of-light dome belong on yours. Emirates Palace does a gold-flake cappuccino that's pure theater. Winter is the season; summer is for museum-hopping in air conditioning.

We stayed at three hotels and ate our way through eight restaurants across the city, from Marmellata Bakery's morning pastries to Butcher & Still's steaks. Every place below is somewhere we actually went.
