Luxembourg was a May stopover that out-ate its size: Clairefontaine's classical French, Ryodo's Japanese precision, and the Bock casemates walked off between meals. The old town drops into the Grund gorge like a postcard folding open.

It's compact, trilingual, and done properly in two days—we covered 6 restaurants, a handful of cafés and bars, and the essential sights without rushing.
