Chengdu in February was hot pot at Shujiuxiang with the numbing-spice dial fully open, pandas doing their slow-motion comedy at the research base, and People's Park tea culture at its unhurried best. The Upper House is the calm above it all.
Sichuan food at the source recalibrates everything—bring tissues, order the tripe. We visited 4 sights, 3 restaurants, 2 parks, and a hotel that reminded us why we keep coming back to this city.
