Antigua in January: volcano views down every cobbled street, Casa Santo Domingo's convent-turned-hotel, and a cocktail scene (Ulew, Charleston) that outclasses capitals three times its size. Acatenango's overnight volcano trek loomed over the whole trip — literally.
We spent our days wandering between Vice Pizzeria, El Alquimista Café, and Maya tortillas at El Comalote. Dry season, November through April, is the window to visit.
